Morning Coffee

It's time to clean house and surrender any destructiveThoughts in your head. No more will you allow Negative people to scramble your brain. No more willYou dwell on painful uncomfortable times.
Let go means-let go!
Make it a priority to keep investing in yourself andYour well being. Make room in your life for happiness, success, and healing.
Before you know it, you will start feeling entitled toAbundance. And, that is as it should be, because you are Number One.
Jane Powell

From where you are right now, the possibilities stretch out, as far as you can imagine, in every direction. Which ones will you choose to follow?
There are things you currently know nothing about, that you can learn. There are places you've never heard of, that you can discover and know.
There are endless combinations of people, places, things, ideas, and events poised to come into your life. Which of them will you choose to experience?
There are magnificent achievements, perfectly suited for you, which you have not yet even considered. There are things of great value that can flow from your passions, your skills, your knowledge and your willingness to make something meaningful out of it all.
The problems are many in this world, yet they are very small indeed when compared to the possibilities for a rich and fulfilling life. On this day, in this moment, you have the opportunity to choose from among a delicious variety of potential paths.
Life begins anew with the breath you take right now. Seize this grand opportunity and make it truly great.

The shortest distance between two points is a simple, direct line. The most effective, fulfilling way to live life is to live it directly.
When some particular task must be done, you could waste a lot of time and energy on resentment, anger, avoidance and procrastination. Or you can simply get busy and get it done.
When you make a mistake, you could put a lot of wasted effort into covering it up, crafting an excuse, or pretending that it did not happen. What's best, though, is to simply accept it, admit it, deal with the consequences, and move along.
In order to be accepted and liked by others, you could labor endlessly so as to live in the right neighborhood, drive the right car, wear the right clothes and eat in the right restaurants. Or, you can simply be genuine, considerate, respectful, friendly and helpful.
If your life is continuously running up against complications and frustrations, stop and ask yourself what it is you truly want. Then consider that there is very likely a more direct way.
Seek to be more direct in your words, your actions, your plans and your thoughts. You'll make far more progress when your energy is focused along a sure and direct path.
Ralph Marston

The Best Day Of My Life

Today, when I awoke, I suddenly realized that this is the best day of my life, ever!
There were times when I wondered if I would make it to today; but I did! And because I did I'm going to celebrate!
Today, I'm going to celebrate what an unbelievable life I have had so far: the accomplishments, the many blessings, and, yes, even the hardships because they have served to make me stronger.
I will go through this day with my head held high, and a happy heart.
I will marvel at God's seemingly simple gifts: the morning dew, the sun, the clouds, the trees, the flowers, the birds. Today, none of these miraculous creations will escape my notice.
Today, I will share my excitement for life with other people. I'll make someone smile. I'll go out of my way to perform an unexpected act of kindness for someone I don't even know.
Today, I'll give a sincere compliment to someone who seems down. I'll tell a child how special he is, and I'll tell someone I love just how deeply I care for them and how much they mean to me.
Today is the day I quit worrying about what I don't have and start being grateful for all the wonderful things God has already given me.

I'll remember that to worry is just a waste of time because my faith in God and his Divine Plan ensures everything will be just fine.
Tonight, before I go to bed, I'll go outside and raise my eyes to the heavens. I will stand in awe at the beauty of the stars and the moon, and I will praise God for these magnificent treasures.
As the day ends and I lay my head down on my pillow, I will thank the Almighty for the best day of my life. And I will sleep the sleep of a contented child, excited with expectation because I know tomorrow is going to be ......

Bible vs Cell Phones

PSALM 105:4...."Look to the Lord and HIS strength; seek HIS face always."
Cell phone vs. Bible

Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we flipped through it several time a day?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to kids as gifts?

What if we used it when we traveled?

What if we used it in case of emergency?

This is something to make you go.....hmm...where is my Bible?

Oh, and one more thing.Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible beingdisconnected because Jesus already paid the bill. Makes you stop and think 'where are my priorities? And no dropped calls!

Rockin' Chair Boogie

There's nothing the matter with me, I'm just as healthy as I can be. I have arthritis and chronic pain, And fibro fog clutters my brain.
My muscles ache and I have dry skin, But I'm awfully well for the shape I'm in. And my diet I try hard not to think about, Doesn’t do any good to whine around & pout.

I'm overweight and I can't get thin, But I'm awfully well for the shape I'm in. And arch supports I need for my feet. Or I wouldn't be able to walk down the street.
Sleep is denied me night after night, But the morning brings beautiful sunlight. My memory's failing, my head's in a spin, But I'm awfully well for the shape I'm in.

Old age is golden so I've heard it said, But sometimes I wonder, as I go to bed. As sleep draws near my pain starts to melt, I’m learning to deal with the hand I’ve been dealt.
The reason I know my Youth has been spent, Is my get-up-and-go has got-up-and-went! But really I don't mind, when I think with a grin, Of all the places my get-up-and-go has been.

I get up each morning and dust off my wits, Getting my body to move is quite often the pits. I eat a good breakfast to start off my day, Put a smile on my face & God shows me the way.
The moral of this as the tale unfolds Is that for you and me, who's bodies feel old. It is better to say, "I'm fine" with a grin, Than to let people know the shape we are in.

So...All I can do, is all I can do. But all I can do is enough. Life isn’t always easy or fair, But think positive and hang tough!
From the poem "Senior Citizens" written by Daisy Anderson

I wonder what it would be like if the world had more
rocking chairs? There is a popular restaurant called the
Cracker Barrel that have rocking chairs in front of their
doors for customers to sit and rock while waiting for a table.

Remember when our children were small and we rocked
them when they needed comfort
or to help them to go to sleep?
I think I enjoyed the rocking as much as they did.

One thing I remember about the rocking chair times of my
life, is that life slowed down. I had to stop all the rushing
around and stop for a few minutes and just rock.
The rocking chair helped me to enjoy
the moments with my children.
I think that my stress also slowed down
when I was rocking in the chair.

I just went over and sat in my rocking recliner
and I felt like I was cozying up to a close friend.
It felt very comforting; very soft and safe.

I wonder if God has rocking chairs in Heaven?
A rocking chair where I can spend
quality time rocking and talking with Him?
Can't you just see our Heavenly Father,
sitting in His rocking chair
with a smaller one for us ... His child... talking with us?
What a beautiful and safe picture that brings to mind.

I think today, if I need time to de-stress,
I will picture myself crawling up
into my heavenly rocking chair and
talking to my Father.

Father, help me today to spend
some quality time with
you in our rocking chairs.
